By observing the following contract exclusions you will ensure your coverage and claims experience is as smooth as possible. Here’s what is not covered under Wear Protection:
- For repairs to your vehicle when the damage or condition existed prior to the contract purchase date.
- For any repair not specifically covered in the Schedule of Coverages.
- For any damage that occurs once your vehicle odometer exceeds 250,000 kilometres or the contract expiry date.
- For any damage caused by collision, fire, theft, vandalism, riot, explosion, lightning, earthquake, freezing, rust or corrosion, windstorm, hail, water or floods, salt, manufacturer defects, environmental damage such as sun fading.
- For any damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence (including cigar/cigarette burns), racing or competitive driving, lack of normal maintenance required by our maintenance schedule for your vehicle, or improper servicing by you or any other repairer. Furthermore, for damage in the event that you or any person who is using or has repaired or serviced your vehicle has failed to provide reasonable caution and care to protect the covered surfaces of your vehicle.
- For failure to protect your vehicle from further damage when damage has already occurred.
- If any damage resulting from alterations made to your vehicle or you are using or have used your vehicle in a manner not recommended by us.
- If your odometer has ceased to operate and odometer repairs have not been made immediately, or the odometer has been altered in any way since You have had possession of your vehicle. Please notify the administrator immediately in the event of an odometer failure. You will be required to have repairs to the odometer completed within 7 days of failure. Documentation of the repair date and odometer reading, before and after the repair must be sent and accepted by the administrator.
- For any damage to parts not originally equipped by us or recommended by us for your vehicle, including but not limited to custom wheels, low profile tires, oversized tires, aftermarket accessory kits, seat protectors.

For any liability for property damage, or for injury to or death of any person arising out of the operation, maintenance or use of yourvehicle described in the contract, whether or not related to the parts covered. For loss of use, time, profit, inconvenience, or any other consequential loss. We are not liable for delays in performance or failure to perform in whole or in part under the terms of the contract due to labour dispute, strike, shortages, acts of war, civil commotion, accident, flood, or other causes beyond our control.
- For damage, no matter what the cause, to floor mats, dashboards and headliners. For damage to any covered interior surface resulting from chemical spills including but not limited to bleach, oil, grease, acid, blood, ink, or any fruit juice.
- When the responsibility for the repair is covered under the original warranty from us or any other insurance policy or parts warranty, or a repairer’s guarantee/warranty.
- If your vehicle is used for commercial purposes which include: rental, police or emergency use, road repair operations, hauling, driving school, route work, vehicles used primarily off road, taxi or public hire, job site activity, courier or delivery, snow removal, construction, limousine or shuttle.

For any damage that is not reported within 7 days of its occurrence, or if the information provided by you, or the repair facility, cannot be verified as accurate.
- For any damage when the vehicle purchase date differs from the contract purchase date.
- Front Windshield Protection: any incremental damage (additional crack expansion or "runs") between the time of actual damage and repair appointment. Cracks and/or breaks exceeding five (5) centimetres in length will require a windshield replacement. A maximum of one windshield replacement shall be covered during the Contract term.
- Paintless Dent Removal: any loss or damage that is deemed non repairable (at the sole discretion of the administrator), including but not limited to: large or deep dents, inaccessible dents, metal which has been creased or edges where manufacturer bracing does not allow for the PDR process. Damaged areas with chipped paint are excluded from the contract.
- Road Hazard Protection:
i) for damage that does not affect the performance of the tire or wheel; or
ii) for tires without at least 2 millimetres of tread remaining at time of claim; or
iii) for tires or wheels that are not originally equipped by the manufacturer for your vehicle (tire replacements and/or seasonal tires/wheels during the term of the contract must be as recommended by us for your vehicle); or
iv) for loss or damage resulting from alignment settings, improper inflation, curb scuff (except as may be provided under the Schedule of Coverages), off road use, suspension or steering linkage related damage.
- If your vehicle is not insured by a chartered insurance company in Canada at the time in which your vehicle incurs covered damage or if you are not a Canadian resident or your vehicle is being used more than 180 days a year outside of Canada.
